Hiking in the Canadian Rockies

“Only if you have been in the deepest valley, can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.”

- Richard M. Nixon

Collection of Hiking Trip Logs

There's a sense of wonder as you hike in the Canadian Rockies. Many hiking trails have a historical value to them in one way or another. You can spot old abandoned buildings or materials on some trails from decades ago. This is especially true around the Banff and Canmore area where many mining towns flourished in the early 1900's.

On top of having a little mystery on some of the history of these hiking trails, the views and sights that they offer are gorgeous as well. Although hiking trails may not lead you to the summit of a peak like scrambling, what each trail has to offer (glaciers, waterfalls, historical sights) are more than worth your time checking out.
